Philadelphia Flower Show
Dates: March 7th–9th, 2012
From towering waterfalls and waves of orchids, to glowing volcanoes and serene sunsets, the 2012 Philadelphia International Flower Show is an immersion in the dramatic landscapes and tranquil spirit of Hawaii. With this years theme of Islands of Aloha you will be carried away to a floral hula fest, romantic beach wedding, tropical ranch house, surfers’ retreat, and a rocky garden of the gods. The show will feature six main islands; oversize waterfalls, waves, rainbows, bamboo, lava, and murals; and large screens projecting wide island vistas. Each of the six island exhibits will have its own stage with indigenous entertainment. An experience not to miss!
Wednesday:
We begin our travel to PA aboard a fully equipped motorcoach. There will be rest stops enroute before our afternoon arrival at the new Sand’s Casino in Bethlehem PA. The Sands Casino features over 3,000 of the latest, most exciting slot machines and electronic table games including progress machines. The next spin you take could be the next big jackpot. The gaming package includes $30 FREE PLAY plus $5 Food and Beverage Credit that can be used at the Buffet or one of the many restaurants at the facility. Lunch/Dinner is on our own here today. We arrive this evening at the Sleep Inn Hotel in Mountville, PA our home for our adventure in the Dutch Country.
Thursday:
Enjoy a Deluxe Continental Breakfast at the Hotel before we depart for Philadelphia and the world renowned International Flower Show. Enjoy commentation by your Best of Times Tour Director on the historic sights of Philadelphia as we travel to the Flower Show. Dinner this evening is at MILLER’S SMORGASBORD – always delightfully delicious. (B, D)
Friday:
Enjoy a Deluxe Continental Breakfast at the Hotel followed by a Fully Commentated Back Country Tour of the Farmlands of Lancaster Country. Stops include an Amish Bakery, Farm Stand, Cannery and the Kitchen Kettle Shops in Intercourse. Ample time for lunch on our own and Shopping. We then head for home with rest stops and a supper (on your own) stop enroute. (B)
