Our “A TASTE OF VERMONT” program is exclusive to Best of Times customers. We will be offering a unique culinary experience emphasizing Vermont foods such as Maple Mustard Chicken, Traditional Roasted Vermont Tom Turkey, Vermont Cheddar Ale Soup using local cheese and Long Trail Ale, Maple Walnut Pie, and much, much more. Be sure to bring your bathing suits as The Summit offers a beautiful heated outdoor pool, a large heated indoor whirlpool, plus a sauna & Jacuzzi. You will surely be dazzled by the beauty surrounding this wonderful property and enjoy the fresh clean air that only the mountains can offer.
Day One: Our trip to the Mountains begins as we ride over gentle rolling hills that speak the essence of nature and watch the flowing brooks that seem to reach out and grab us. Before we know it we have arrived in Killington Vermont for lunch at The Grist Mill on Summit pond. Enjoy a hearty meal and maybe even take some time to feed the ducks. After lunch take time to enjoy the wonderful amenities of this terrific property. Loads of activities are available such as tennis on one of the Summit’s 4 clay courts, bocche ball, & shuffle board. Or, just relax in your bathing suit by the swimming pool, or perhaps enjoy a warm jacuzzi. Whatever your pleasure the Summit Lodge has plenty of tranquility to melt away and soak in the fresh mountain air. This evening join us for our 5pm Innkeepers Cocktail Party with complimentary hors d’oeuvres & wine and draft beer priced @ only $1.00. We’ll enjoy a delightful dinner with evening entertainment to wind down our day.

Day Two: We start our morning with a Hearty Breakfast off the menu before heading out for the day. Our day begins with a visit to Vermont’s Castle - Wilson Castle an architectural masterpiece built in the mid 19th Century sitting on a 115 acre estate. We will tour the castle, which has been the home of five generations of the Wilson family and is dominated by nineteen open proscenium arches and shadowed by a towering turret, paraphet, and balcony. The interior features 3 floors, 32 rooms, 84 stained glass windows, and 13 fireplaces finished with imported tiles. Next, it’s on to our 2 Hour boat tour and Luncheon on Lake George. We’ll visit the Queen of American Lakes, see beautiful islands, historic mansions, and learn of early Indian settlements. Finally we make a stop at Rocking Horse Country Store for some Vermont Country shopping to round out our day.
